Simon, Before Bath and After Dinner

Simon after Dinner

Quote for the day: "There's nothing either good
or bad, 'tis thinking makes it so."

This is from Shakespeare's Hamlet. It may be
slightly paraphrased, as it comes from memory.

You have way to much time on your hands. Get to work around there. Wink.

Interesting quote. I'm having a hard time with that one. What's your thoughts on it.

Scott - It means that your attitude creates your vision. If you think something is bad, then to you, it is. Likewise, if you think something is good, then it is, to you. Hamlet was a depressed person.

My views on this quote are mixed:
On one hand , I agree. For example, prayer and fasting--it's how you think about it, or your heart, that makes it good or bad. If we do things for an audience besides God, we have received our reward in full. So, prayer or fasting by themselves are not good, "tis thinking makes it so." B
ut, I don't agree with the bad part. Somethings are just bad, no matter how you "think" about it. I think that sometimes we can try and justify bad things, but it is still a bad thing. Lots of examples. But you guys have imaginations.

There is that scripture which says to him who thinks it is sin, it is. But I also agree that some things are just bad. Thats confusing and I try not to think about confusing things. I'm off to edit my site.
