Birthday Eve and Morning
Simon is listening with me to a Veggie Tales Easter CD as I write...He just got so excited that for a moment I seriously suspected that he might be having a seizure. Turns out it was just EXTREME excitement with the music!
Well, I wrote in our last entry that we were looking for a chair. We decided, instead, to remove Simon's special rocking armchair to the living room instead. The big change in his bedroom "suite" seems appropriate as he turns two! So, the two pictures of the living room are to show the new arrangement. Hopefully, soon, we will have our family heirloom 'circular' chair reupholstered. We are slowly losing the empty floor space, but it is for the good as it makes it easier to have friends sit comfortably. Above the couch are two plantation shutters that I rescued from the Colony Resale. We plan to put a long white shelf directly under the shutters, as if they were sitting on a window ledge.
Simon likes the new corner in his room where the chair once was! We put a small blanket and pillows there for our nightly cuddle time. I think he likes it better, actually. This morning (the pix with his shirt on), he was so happy to go back to the blanket. You can see in one pix how he is clutching his two "loveys" -- lamby and bear. This morning (the pix with his shirt on), he was overjoyed to return to the blanket; so overjoyed, in fact, that in a span of a few minutes, he retrieved practically every stuffed animal that he owns to join him on the blanket. The picture was taken before ALL of the animal multitudes joined him.
I overheard him telling bear this morning, "Say night night." Then he kind of smothered bear with a blanket. I wonder if that is the perception he has of us when we put him to bed! We're thinking of training him to sleep in a toddler bed in late September, after we return from family vacation. I think his crib turns into a toddler bed somehow.
