My Monkey

Our friend Tony took these two pictures of Simon.

I realized yesterday when visiting with a couple of friends that most of our friends don't know that we are officially a "one car family" now.

We had considered going to one car, to save on insurance, registration, inspections, maintenance, etc.  I don't need a car that much, and when I do, I could just take Matt to work.

We prayed about it and didn't know what to do.

Then, our 'answer' came in the form of a wreck.
Matt was in a wreck one day in September.  The impact was on the driver's side just inches from Matt!  It was a "no fault" accident for us as the other driver just drove right into Matt who was on a major road.  She wasn't hurt, either.

We had quotes from the insurance company to get Matt's car repaired and took it to our favorite mechanic, friend, and supporter.  He was waiting on the official paperwork to begin repairing our Camry.

Then, the insurance company called Matt and said they had decided to either do to things:  Buy our car from us for a VERY fair price, much more than we would have expected to sell it for.  Or, give us a set amount of money (also very generous) and let us keep the damaged  car and try to sell it or have it repaired.

Our mechanic asked us to take the second option because he said he'd like to buy it from us for the difference in the two offers from our insurance.  That's how God used this situation to be a double blessing to him as well.  We 'sold' it to him for the difference of the offers, and he received a reliable car for a great price which did need lots of repairs and bodywork, but guess what?  That's what he does as a profession, so the cost there will be minimal!  Now, he can either turn around and sell it and make a profit on it or have another reliable car to use.

So, we're now a one-car family, unless God surprises us again.
