Autumn Fest, Misc, and Evie's Birthday Party Pictures

Terri stopping to investigate Simon's dilemma.  He had a foreign object in his mouth.  I like this snapshot because it just shows the care and community that we share with our friends here.  I commented last night to some of them that we are lately very much appreciating and noticing the rich reservoir of friends we have here that truly walk with us authentically, sharpen us, and just add joy to our lives!
Being gone for 3 weeks made us REALLY miss everyone here.

Yesterday was Oct. 31, and I was at Old Navy buying Evie a pair of pants for her birthday;  they are the only pants she can wear and not wriggle/crawl out of because she is so tiny.

While I was there, they marked their costumes down to $4.99 from $22 ish dollars.  So, I browsed and picked out two cute costumes - a butterfly costume I thought Evie could wear in a year or so and a monkey costume I thought was too cute and would be great for our stash of dress-up play costumes.

Simon actually wanted to wear a costume last night after seeing some trick or treaters come to our house.  By the way, trick or treaters scored Kudos granola bars over here because (a) they are as sweet as candy  (b)  we have too many right now.

Um,  Simon would only wear the monkey costume and not the turtle one that was gifted to him.  Apologies to the grandmothers!
Both will be in his dress-up stash and will be used frequently by Simon and his friends.

It was a delightful evening and morning.
Had the feel of a family vacation or Christmas holidays.
I was sad, though, that Matt couldn't come; he's been really sick this week and just started antibiotics yesterday.  We even had to cancel a family-outing to the Arboretum today because he really can't muster up energy to do anything, which is sad because this was the last weekend for the autumn pumpkin festival and hay mazes.

This girl NEEDS some girly bibs !

Simon finally tried on the turtle costume his grandmothers bought him
(we had all gone shopping together.)
I was wanting to get him one for Christmas as he always sees kids wearing costumes on his Praise Baby DVDS ... He is a little reticent to actually wear them, though!

A gift that Evie received from Nana and Papa that she LOVES.
It sounds like she really will say "hi" and chat a bit.

We tried to have something here, too, but Matt has been sick this week.
