Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum

We met our friends the Rizzos at the Arboretum at 9 this morning!
Tony was taking some pictures of our kids for us.
This post just has some pictures from our 'layman's' camera -- but they are still delectable!

Tony and Teressa are pros at getting smiles and laughs from little girls.

Perfect

"More pictures?"

I bought Evie these shoes the other night at Target, and Evie was SO EXCITED.
Simon would never get excited about that kind of thing.
She was trying to put them on her feet, and then she kept staring at her feet and admiring her new shoes!

Ava and Evie
Yes, it gets confusing trying to keep their names straight; when they are in the same place for too long, I start calling Evie Ava or Ava Evie.

The princesses rest in their respective carriages.

Kindred Spirits

In addition to the beautiful Dallas Blooms event for the Spring flowers, they also have a storybook theme right now.  They have fairytales and then buildings to match them.  This was a dragon you could walk in.  There was a pirate ship, a boat from Owl and the Pussycat, a house from Alice and Wonderland, a peach from James and the Giant Peach, a gingerbread house from Hansel and Gretel, a cabin from a not-so-known Russian fairytale and probably many others that I forgot ...

If my grandmother only knew how much mileage we're getting from this big bag/basket I "rescued" from her attic ...

Evie is welcoming you to her little cottage ...

"Hey, those goldfish look better than my cheerios ..."

Evie took 3 steps last Thursday ... not any more walking action sense then ...

oops

be still my pattering heart

Matt keeping Evie warm kangaroo-style.
Matt felt pretty sick today.
We had our air-vents cleaned yesterday to PREVENT all of the colds we seem to get, and having them cleaned seemed to make Matt really sick.  I'm glad Evie and I were out of the house at a dear friend's bridal shower ... more pic to come one day soon from that ...

More Yummy and Edible Faces

Homemade tamales courtesy of the Pecina Family.

Sweet potato 'fries' are amazing.
I wish sweet potatoes were always in season.
Brush a mixture of olive oil, salt and nutmeg on slices.
Cook on a high temp.
Prepare to be delighted.

I feel like this little guy has a personality.

The one above is my favorite face for this post.
I actually 'lost' a lot of faces from last autumn when we changed computers and the hard-drive to which we had saved our iphoto crashed.

Beach Bum

Ew.  Matt did this one.  The ketchup provokes my 'ew' response.
The 'hair' is spaghetti squash.

This meal looked better on our plates than as a face, especially with Matt's 'signature' ketchup.
Eggplant, avocado, potatoes and crowder peas.  It was yum-o, minus the ketchup-o.

Pucker up
