Simon and Evie outside yesterday enjoying 6 inches of snow.
It seemed like a good part of Carrollton was outside our house enjoying the steep hill on the greenbelt. People were sliding on everything!
Examples of makeshifts "sled" were ironing board frames, cardboard, plastic lids, plastic boxes, laundry baskets, trashbags, DISH Network satellite dish, sandbox covers, skateboard decks, plastic children's swimming pools.
Examples of the authentic sporting gear that we saw: snowboards, inner-tubes, skis, and sleds.

With the recent ice and snow storm, we have been cooking more.
One morning Matt made these whole wheat pancakes with greek yogurt and blueberries
Evie waiting for ballet class to begin.
Simon was home from school sick that day.
He has been sick A LOT lately.
We're thankful in a way for the 4 days this week that the school was closed with ice/snow conditions, as Simon would have missed 2-3 of those days anyway because of a fever.
He missed last Friday, Monday, and then the school was closed Tu-Friday.
So, he is REALLY ready to go back.
And we are REALLY ready, too :)
Simon's leftover pretzel from lunch one day
He labeled the bag "Simon" then decided he wanted to write "from Simon"
and have us mail it to our Bridge of Hope child Lalita in Nepal.
He wanted me to make sure I cut off the edges where he ate,
since he has been sick, and he didn't want Lalita to get sick.
It was a sweet thought, but it went in the trash later when he wasn't around.
