Spring is Here and Pictures Galore !

Simon wanted to be a turtle one evening.

He was a turtle for a loong time b/c the zipper became stuck.

I remembered a tip from Real Simple that really worked - I ran a lead pencil over the stubborn part of the zipper, and, voila!  Success!  And a much needed trek to the bathroom for Si ...

So Simon wanted to entertain Evie with the best baby toy fare we have.

He was a great babysitter.

I was a little indulgent, though, and gave Ava her first cornbread/cake.

Since there aren't any local grandparents, someone has to introduce those goodies ... :)

Heather and Terri one night at Starbucks.  Rachael and I were there, too, but we weren't wearing photo-worthy hats ... :)

Simon and Cody, Kyle, Andrew and Gabriel spent a lot of time outside one Sunday morning.

We had a nice brunch of homemade cinnamon rolls, breakfast burritos, and fruit.

Michelle and I served the boys outside on the porch and forbid them to come in (barring bathroom of course)

I am still pondering how it came about so soon that Simon starts kindergarten in August!

We discovered that Evie loves bubbles!   I know most kids do, but she really seems to get a kick out of the bubbles.  And she enjoys putting the lid back on the bubbles.

Simon and I have woken her up several mornings by blowing bubbles on her.

Now, that's a peaceful wake-up.

My tulips were on their last leg here, but we enjoyed so many beautiful days with them!

Our friends the Raibleys came over one night for dinner and to help us plan a mini-mini kitchen remodel.  Stan is a certified kitchen designer so he gave us a few pointers.  Candi stayed busy with the kids and flooded them with lots of one on one attention!

Evie could spend hours playing with her high-chair straps.

I finally tired of lugging our dining room chair to the porch and I picked up a second booster seat for us at a second-hand store to use on the porch .... It's attached to a rocking chair (not pictured) so it works as a rocker-seat, too!

Silly children.

It's not everyday you get to have wonderful company for dinner, a nice round of monopoly, and yard work ... :)  Many hands make light work ...

By the way, Simon totally won Monopoly.  Matt and Simon invented their own rules to keep it simple, so they had the 'house advanatage.'

We borrowed this swing from my friend Megan.

Except for the crystal dish in the background, Simon washed every single dish in the drainer and the counter.  And I didn't go back and wash them after him.  He did a great job!  (I did make sure the glasses were fully rinsed so that we wouldn't taste any Seventh Generation Eucalyptis and Mint (Even though it sounds yummy) dishwashing liquid in our water ...)

My cousin Jessie mailed me these shoes and a fabulous dress to wear to a wedding.

The shoes weren't my size, though, nor is there anyway I could handle these well.

Evie started walking almost two weeks ago!

She took three steps at home and then one Tuesday night in the nursery at GFA, she just took off!  She's getting pretty confident.

I was just about to pass on Simon's space-shuttle toys, and now Evie has discovered them ...
